The Bronx Painting Company provides interior painting, exterior painting and cabinet painting for homes and businesses in the Bronx. The company is licensed and insured. Why painting is different in the Bronx
Most homes here are old, and most walls are plaster. Plaster cracks, old patches show and trim carries decades of paint. In buildings from before 1978 some of those layers may contain lead, and New York City's Local Law 1 presumes it in rental buildings built before 1960. So preparation here is careful, with no open dry sanding of old paint.
Buildings have their own rules too. Co-ops, condos and managed rentals usually ask for a certificate of insurance and set the hours when contractors can work. Outside, winters bring freeze and thaw, summers are humid, and houses near Long Island Sound get salt air. On a landmark or in a historic district, the Landmarks Preservation Commission must approve a change of exterior color.
How we work
It starts with a free estimate. We look at the job, measure and send a written quote that lists the prep, the paint and the price. Once you agree, we set dates and sort out any building paperwork. We cover floors and furniture, repair and prime the surfaces, and apply two coats. Most rooms take one to two days and a full exterior usually takes three to five days, depending on weather. We clean up and walk the finished work with you.
